Hafenstrasse 6/7, Silo IV (Stralsund)
The building with the postal address Hafenstraße 6/7 ( Silo IV ) is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund in Hafenstraße on the corner of Neue Semlower Straße . It belongs to the ensemble of granaries on the harbor island and thus shapes the silhouette of the city.
The tall brick building was erected between 1935 and 1936. The two-part building was used as a silo for grain .
The facade facing Hafenstrasse has a stepped gable and a centrally positioned window axis in the slightly protruding head building to the south . The northern, lower and eaves part of the building with its windowless wall has a relief that shows a cog .
The house is located on the outskirts of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 847.
