Ana Inés Larre Borges

Ana Inés Larre Borges (born August 16, 1956 in Montevideo , Uruguay) is a Uruguayan literary critic , translator and editor .

Larre Borges studied literature at the Instituto de Profesores Artigas, which he began in 1976 and successfully completed in 1981, and continued postgraduate studies from 1981 to 1982 in Spain at the Instituto de Cooperación Iberoamericana and the University of Málaga .

In the field of cultural journalism, she initially worked for the Sincensura newspaper and published in the Correo de los Viernes . In 1982 she took up a position in the research department of the Uruguayan National Library and has been the director of the library's magazine since March 2010, in which she had previously published for a long time. Larre Borges also runs the Cal y Canto publishing house and is a literary critic of the Brecha .

She wrote numerous essays on Uruguayan storytelling, such as Felisberto Hernández: una conciencia filosófica , Onetti: Jacob y el otro, el relato como duelo or Las velades del fogón . In 1998 she wrote the prologue by Richard Burton en el Uruguay and translated the work. El diario de Jasmina is one of her many other translations . Testimonio intimo de una mujer sobre la guerra de Kosovo from 1999. In 2001 she was awarded the Legión del Libro by the Cámara Uruguaya del Libro (CUDL) .
