Anaclet Wamba

Anaclet Wamba (* 6. January 1960 in Liranga , Congo ) is a former French boxer and world champion of the Association of WBC in the cruiserweight division .

amateur

Among the amateurs , Wamba took part in the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow for Congo . However, could not win a medal there.

professional

Wamba was able to make his first 13 fights victorious and had to accept his first bankruptcy in his 14 fight. In 1989 he became European champion and in 1990 he was defeated by the Italian Massimiliano Duran for the WBC world title. The following year he met Duren again, and it was again for the world champion belt of the WBC. This time he defeated Duran by technical knockout in round 11 and thus secured the title.

The third argument between the two, which took place in the same year and in which it was again about the world championship belt of the WBC, brought the same result as the second.

Wamba defended his title a total of seven times and ended his career in 1994.
