Anagennisi Artas

Anagennisi Artas ( Greek Αναγέννηση Άρτας ) is a sports club founded in Arta ( Greece ) in 1960 . Its offerings include football , basketball , gymnastics , volleyball and handball . The Arta Bridge can be seen on the association's emblem . The club's colors are black and white.

Soccer

The soccer team plays in Football League 2 , the third highest Greek division. For some time now she has been looked after by Dimitrios Spanos. The career of the famous goalkeeper of the national team and the later 2004 European champion Antonios Nikopolidis began with Anagenissi Artas. Another European champion from 2004 also played for Anagennisi Arta, Michalis Kapsis .

Handball

The women's handball team is one of the big names in Greece. After the women's team was founded in 1987, they rose to the top Greek league in 1992. After the women became Greek champions for the first time in 1995, they defended the championship twelve times in a row. In addition, Anagennisi Artas is a ten-time Greek cup winner. On an international level, the women's team made it into the round of 16 of the EHF Champions League in the 1995/1996 season and since 2003 has made it into the second round of the EHF Cup three times in a row .
