Anandatissa de Alwis
Maha Amarasinghage Anandatissa de Alwis (* August 21, 1919 - August 22, 1996 ) was a Sri Lankan politician of the United National Party (UNP).
Life
De Alwis was for those of the Sept. 6, 1946 , Don Stephen Senanayake founded United National Party (UNP) in the election in 1977 in the constituency Kotte as a member of the National State Assembly, the Parliament elected. On May 18, 1977 he replaced Stanley Tillekeratne as spokesman for the National Assembly and held this office until September 7, 1978, whereupon Abdul Bakeer Markar succeeded him. In 1988 he was appointed Minister of Information in the government of Prime Minister Ranasinghe Premadasa and held this office until March 1989.
On July 8, 1994, de Alwis Karunasena Kodituwakku replaced as governor of the Northwest Province and held this office until his replacement by Hector Arawwawala on January 13, 1995.
