Anatoly Khorozov

Anatolij Mykolajowytsch Chorosow ( Ukrainian Анатолій Миколайович Хорозов ; * 1924 in Korsun , Ukrainian SSR ; † September 27, 2011 ) was a Ukrainian ice hockey official .

Life

Khorosow, born in Korsun-Shevchenkivsky in 1924, was President of the Ukrainian Ice Hockey Association between 1965 and 1997 and was considered the father of Ukrainian ice hockey . Several ice hockey schools were founded in Ukraine under his leadership. Later he helped HK Sokol Kiev to rise to a top club in the Soviet Union, which culminated in third place in the Vysschaya League in 1984/85 .

In 2006 Anatoly Khorosov was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame . Khorosow died on September 27, 2011 at noon at the age of 87.
