Anatomical forceps
An anatomical forceps is a tweezer , the holding jaws are characterized by lateral grooves. It can be straight or with a bent front end and is manufactured in various lengths. Anatomical forceps are suitable for gently grasping easily vulnerable structures, such as blood vessels or nerves . It is therefore mainly used in anatomy (hence the name), but is also used for this application in surgery . However, the tissue-friendly property has the disadvantage that captured structures can slip out of the forceps. In contrast to surgical forceps , a strong pull is not possible.
