Unlike Nilsson

Anders Nilsson (* 1844 near Trelleborg , † 1936) was a Swedish officer, engineer, town planner and politician.

After training as a technical elementary school teacher in Malmö , Nilsson attended the Karlberg War School from 1878-80 and made it up to major in infantry . He then worked as a railway engineer and was from 1898-1920 city engineer of Malmö. As such, he followed the ideas of the Austrian city planner Camillo Sitte , with winding streets and irregular blocks of flats instead of regular grid buildings. Only a small part of his comprehensive planning ideas were implemented.

The Baltic Exhibition in 1914 gave rise to some of his major projects, such as the Pildammspark . A street in Malmö is named after Nilsson.
