André-Michel Guerry

André-Michel Guerry (born December 24, 1802 in Tours , † April 9, 1866 ) was a French lawyer (attorney) and amateur statistician .

Together with Adolphe Quételet , he is considered to be the founder of the discipline of moral statistics , which contributed to the establishment of criminology as an independent science. He was a member of the London Statistics Society .
