André Boissier

André Boissier (born March 3, 1904 in Paris , † May 4, 1956 in Cairo ) was a Swiss diplomat .

Life

André Boissier was the son of the diplomat Gustave Boissier , who was, among other things, envoy to Romania between 1918 and 1920 . He himself also entered the diplomatic service and in 1947 became legation secretary in the Directorate for International Organizations in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Political Department (now the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs ). Then he was between 1949 and 1951 head of the protocol of the Political Department and from May 1952 to May 1954 Legation Counselor at the Embassy in the USA .

On July 20, 1954, Boissier succeeded Beat von Fischer as envoy in Egypt . He held this office until his death on May 4, 1956.
