André Winkhold (born March 4, 1962 in Aachen ) is a former German soccer player .

life and work

Winkhold played a total of 128 games for Borussia Mönchengladbach in the first Bundesliga between 1985 and 1990 in midfield and defense. Between 1990 and 1993 he played for Hertha BSC and from 1993 to 1997 for Fortuna Düsseldorf in the first and second Bundesliga. He then moved to the then regional league team Alemannia Aachen. After his active career, after the sudden death of Werner Fuchs, he temporarily took over the coaching position and celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with the decisive victory in Erkenschwick.

André Winkhold has been a member of the Weisweiler-Elf, a team of former players from Borussia Mönchengladbach, since 2000.

Winkhold ran a sports shop in Aachen-Brand . He is married and has three children.
