Andrea Busiri Vici
Andrea Busiri Vici (born January 7, 1818 in Rome ; † November 12, 1911 ibid) was an Italian architect and teacher at the Scuola Ingegneri-Architetti in Rome. He came from the oldest architectural dynasty in Rome. His ancestors included the French architect Jean Beausire and Vanvitelli's student Andrea Vici .
Life
Andrea Busiri Vici was the first architect and builder of Saint Peter and architect Pius IX. Busiri Vici designed the Roman Mastai quarter . He was also the official architect of the Roman patrician family Doria Pamphilij and the Propaganda Fide , as well as chairman of the Accademia di San Luca and professor at the Scuola Ingegneri-Architetti. His numerous works include restoration and remodeling work on Sant'Agnese sulla via Nomentana, Sant'Agnese in Agone, San Giovanni in Laterano, Santa Maria Maggiore e San Lorenzo in Lucina and also on Palazzo Doria Pamphilj in Piazza Navona and the villa Pamphili. In 1871 he delivered a draft for a classical design of the facade of Santa Costanza (not executed).
