Andrea Rehmsmeier is a German Slavist and journalist based in Hanover.

education

After studying Slavonic Studies in Bielefeld, she studied journalism in Hanover at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Research . During her studies, she taught at the Veliky Novgorod Lyceum of the Russian Federation and spent a year abroad at the Belarusian State University in Minsk.

Journalistic work

Rehmmeier's thematic focuses are money laundering, environmental crimes, nuclear technology and plutonium, the Arctic , raw materials as well as international relations and political upheavals in Central and Eastern Europe. She writes extensively researched and often investigative articles for media such as Der Spiegel , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Die Zeit , Capital and VICE . She has been a longstanding writer for Deutschlandfunk, for the programs “Das Feature”, “Faces of Europe”, “Background” and “Science in Focus”, among others.

Rehmsmeier is a consultant for the ProRecherche teaching staff.
