criticism

During the preparations for establishing a foundation in 2011, the association's board found that the association had wrongly received around EUR 75,000 in grants from the Federal Agency for Civic Education due to incorrect accounting . This led to the resignation of the co-founder and long-time First Chairman Thomas Leif . The wrongly received grants were repaid.

After donors, sponsors and advertisers had distanced themselves from the network in the course of the crisis and high costs had been incurred for auditors and lawyers, the 2011 financial year ended with a loss of around 157,400 euros.

In the following years the association was able to win back its cooperation partners (including the Federal Agency for Civic Education ) and stabilize its budget. The association joined the Transparent Civil Society initiative and publishes annual financial reports on its website.
