Lighthouse price
The lighthouse for special journalistic achievements ( lighthouse price ) is an award of the Verband Netzwerk Recherche e. V. in Hamburg. It has been awarded annually since 2002 for special achievements in the field of investigative journalism .
Award winners
- 2002: Christoph Lütgert , NDR chief reporter, for his TV documentary about the Lipobay disaster.
- 2003: Jürgen Dahlkamp , editor of Spiegel , was honored for his report on the death of the asylum seeker Aamir Ageeb and the legal scandal associated with this case.
- 2004: Volker Lilienthal , editor of the specialist magazine epd medien , received the award for his sustained research into the disclosure of surreptitious advertising on public television.
- 2005: The authors Ingolf Gritschneder and Georg Wellmann were awarded the Lighthouse Prize for their WDR contribution Billion Monopoly - The Secret Business of Oppenheim-Esch-Holding about the corruption scandal surrounding the construction of the Cologne exhibition halls . For the first time, a special prize was also awarded to the watch blog picture blog by Stefan Niggemeier and Christoph Schultheis .
- 2006: The sports journalist Hans-Joachim Seppelt was honored for his research on doping in the ARD . The editorial staff of the “ Geschichte Politik im Deutschlandfunk” (DLF) received the award for “continuous critical, profound journalism.”
- 2007: Andrea Röpke , Anton Maegerle and Thomas Kuban were awarded the Lighthouse Prize for their “persistent and intensive research in the field of right-wing extremism” .
- 2008: The journalist Peter Merseburger received the award for his biography about Rudolf Augstein, published in 2007, and for his life's work as a journalist. The laudation was given by Hans Leyendecker from the Süddeutsche Zeitung .
- 2009: The reporter pool from NDR Info received the lighthouse for its remarkable research work. The laudation was given by Georg Mascolo , editor-in-chief of Spiegel .
- 2010: For its enlightening analyzes on Stuttgart 21 are Heiner Geissler , Andreas Zielcke ( Süddeutsche Zeitung ) and Arno Luik ( Star ) excellent.
- 2011: For its reporting in the Guttenberg affair will Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung / Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung awarded the Lighthouse for special journalistic achievements.
- 2012: René Wappler (Spremberger Rundschau) and Wolfgang Kaes (Bonner General-Anzeiger) are honored with the lighthouse for special journalistic achievements for their outstanding achievements in local journalism .
- 2013: The journalist Michael Obert and the photographer Moises Saman received the award for a report published in the magazine of the Süddeutsche Zeitung about torture camps run by Bedouin tribes on the Sinai Peninsula. A special prize goes to the freelance journalist Jochen Wagner, who, after many years of work for the Bonner General-Anzeiger, sued the latter for appropriate remuneration.
- 2014: Bastian Obermayer and Uwe Ritzer from the Süddeutsche Zeitung for their research on the manipulations involved in the awarding of the “Yellow Angel” car award and other grievances at the ADAC .
- 2015: Ulrich Chaussy for his research on the Oktoberfest attack .
- 2016: Can Dündar "for his courageous research for his newspaper and for his fight for freedom of the press in Turkey". The laudation was given by Martin Schulz , President of the European Parliament .
- 2017: Armin Wolf "for his clear stance, his competence and his permanent dialogue in social media".
- 2018: Jana Simon , Annabel Wahba and Christian Fuchs (journalist) on behalf of the research team of Die Zeit for their revelations in the Dieter Wedel case, which triggered the German #MeeToo debate.
- 2019´: Juan Moreno for discovering the forgeries of Claas Relotius
