Christoph Lütgert (born May 8, 1945 in Bad Wilsnack ) is a German journalist and author. Lütgert was chief reporter for the NDR from 1993 until his retirement in 2010 .

Life

After graduating from high school, Lütgert worked as a freelancer for the German Press Agency (dpa) and began studying law and then studying journalism . Lütgert reported for dpa on the student protests and the clashes in Berlin in the second half of the sixties. He broke off his studies and then worked full-time for dpa.

After completing his internship, he became an editor in the dpa regional office in North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf in 1970. In 1973 he became the dpa state political correspondent for North Rhine-Westphalia and moved to the dpa capital office in Bonn in the early 1980s, before Jürgen Kellermeier, then NDR radio editor in charge, recruited him as a Bonn correspondent for NDR radio.

In 1988 Lütgert switched to television within the NDR and became the first reporter for the ARD political magazine Panorama . In 1993 he became a television reporter for the NDR and traveled in this capacity to China, Southeast Asia, the Pacific, Scandinavia, the USA and Great Britain.

After 1993, Christoph Lütgert also acted as moderator for the ARD politics magazine Panorama produced by NDR and the NDR satirical magazine Extra 3 . With a film documentary in 1997 he uncovered the real causes of the crash of a Messerschmitt Me 110 during the Second World War near Bokel in Schleswig-Holstein.

Lütgert has drawn attention to himself in recent years with comments in the ARD daily topics and reporter assignments for Panorama magazine. Lütgert's reports on the textile discounter KiK (“The Kik-Story”) and the AWD (“The printer king and politics”) caused a stir . In his contribution “Red-Green makes cash” he reported on the change of top politicians in the red-green coalition under Chancellor Gerhard Schröder to lobbying . In 2012 he reported critically on long settlement times for serious insurance claims in "The No-Sayers - The Power of Insurance Companies".
