Live and act

Ambder's parents were Rathmann Anders Thomsen (1576–1624) and Magdalena de Bähr (1576–1661). His first marriage was to Margaretha Mauritius (1613–1649), from which a son emerged: Andreas Ambders (1647–1694), deacon in Niebüll . His second marriage was to Elsabe Carstendatter (1633–1675). From this marriage there were 14 children.

Andreas Ambders studied from 1629 in Rostock and from 1636 in Königsberg theology . In 1642 he was appointed rector of the Latin school in Tondern. In 1646 he received his master's degree from the University of Rostock . In 1651 he became a pastor in Burkal and remained so until his death in 1687. He was the fifth pastor since the Reformation of the church.

He wrote two books of eulogies with the title: "Tundersche immortal mortality" in 1649 and 1672. He also described many of his own relatives. During this time it was common for the children of pastors to become pastors again (or take up an equivalent profession) or to marry a pastor.
