Andreas Bauch (basketball player)

Andreas Bauch (born February 11, 1985 in St. Pölten ) is a former Austrian basketball player . The 1.91 meter tall player started with St. Pölten in the Bundesliga.

career

Bauch came to basketball through Thomas Schreiner , who grew up in the neighborhood. As a teenager he played at the St. Pölten sports center and made the leap into the UKJ SUBA St. Pölten Bundesliga team . There were also appearances in the European Cup, he also took part in training camps for the B national team, but did not make any international matches. In 2003, coach Mauricio Parra tried to lure him to SV Tübingen in Germany , but Bauch refused.

From 2010 to 2013 he strengthened the second division Amstetten Falcons before returning to St. Pölten. He was relegated with the team from the Bundesliga in 2014 and subsequently competed in the country's second-highest class. In 2016 he won the second division championship with St. Pölten and was named the best player in the final series.

Bauch, who ended his competitive sports career in 2018, was named “St. Pölten basketball institution ”.
