Andreas Bauch (theologian)

Andreas Bauch (born February 28, 1908 in Ensfeld , † October 24, 1985 in Eichstätt ) was a German Roman Catholic priest and theologian .

Life

From 1918, Bauch attended the humanistic high school in Eichstätt and in 1920 entered the boys' seminar. He studied theology at the PTH Eichstätt.

Johann Jakob von Hauck ordained him as a priest on June 29, 1932. Then he was chaplain in St. Walburga Nürnberg-Eibach . From 1934 to 1946 he was sub-rain at the Collegium Willibaldinum . From October 1, 1950 to September 30, 1971, he was Regens in the Collegium Willibaldinum. After receiving his doctorate from the University of Würzburg in 1946 on the theological-ascetic literature of Eichstätt Bishop Philipp von Rathsamhausen, he taught from 1947 to 1976 as a professor for general history and Christian art at the PTH Eichstätt .

He received the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1972 and in 1978 he became an honorary citizen of Eichstätt.
