Andreas Bereczky

Andreas Bereczky (born August 7, 1953 in Budapest ) is a German-Hungarian media manager and engineer . From 2004 to 2018 he was production director of the second German television .

Life

Bereczky was born in Hungary in 1953, where he graduated from high school and completed several training courses in technical professions. In 1974 he migrated to Germany and in 1976 graduated from the Technical University in Aachen . In 1982 he obtained a degree in engineering and in 1985 a corresponding doctorate. Bereckzy was unable to take up a position at Airbus due to the political situation during the Cold War . Instead, he was in charge of systems consulting at Bull Computer, and from 1989 he also held the same position at debis (Daimler-Benz Interservices) system house in Aachen. In the following years he carried out various activities in this company.

In April 2000, Bereczky became managing director of debis Systemhaus GEI and in 2002 one of the managing directors of T-Systems Service Line System Integration. On January 1, 2004, Bereczky finally became production director of the ZDF and was thus responsible for the production and broadcasting operations, the image design and the IT of the television station. Under his leadership, digitization was further developed on ZDF and HDTV was introduced. These meetings allowed the conversion of today messages on HDTV already in 2015 instead of as originally planned, he left in 2016. In addition, in 2009 a new news studio in virtual technology to build, the ZDF internally Hell Green is known. In February 2016, he announced that the first Ultra HD production would be broadcast on the Internet in May of the same year. On December 31, 2018, Bereczky retired.

Andreas Bereczky is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Software AG and a member of the Supervisory Board of GFT Technologies SE. In April 2016 he became deputy chairman of the German TV Platform Association , which he remained until April 2018.

In November 2018, Andreas Bereczky was appointed to the Board of Directors of Eurovision Services SA, a newly founded subsidiary of the European Broadcasting Union based in Geneva, with effect from February 1, 2019 . He lives in Aachen, is married and has a daughter.
