Andreas Bummel lecture “The democratic world parliament”.

Andreas Bummel (born February 9, 1976 in Cape Town ) is executive chairman of Democracy without Borders (formerly the Committee for a Democratic UN, KDUN) and head of the secretariat of the international campaign for a parliamentary assembly at the United Nations (UNPA-Campaign). In June 2007 he received the Vision Award at the first Vision Summit in Berlin for his commitment to a world parliament.

From 1998 to 2008 he was the coordinator for UN reform for the Society for Threatened Peoples and has been a member of the Council of the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy in New York since 1998. In 2002, 2005 and 2009 he ran for the FDP as a direct candidate in the constituency of Groß-Gerau (Hesse) in the federal election. In December 2011 he left the party.

In 2012 Bummel was elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science.

In 2017 his book The Democratic World Parliament: A Cosmopolitan Vision ( Dietz-Verlag , with Jo Leinen ) was published, which was presented on June 2, 2017 in the program Kulturzeit . In April 2018 the English edition was published under the title "A World Parliament: Governance and Democracy in the 21st Century".
