Andreas Hackethal

Andreas Hackethal (born February 5, 1971 in Coburg ) is a German economist and professor of finance at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Life

Andreas Hackethal studied business administration at Goethe University and at the University of Iowa , USA . He did his doctorate in 1999 under Reinhard H. Schmidt at the Goethe University and completed his habilitation in 2005 at the Faculty of Economics at the Goethe University. In parallel to his academic career, he worked for two years in banking and eight years in strategy consulting. In January 2005, he accepted an offer at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, where he was Professor of Financial Services until the end of 2007 and headed the Department of Finance, Accounting and Real Estate there.

In 2008 he accepted a professorship in finance in the House of Finance at Goethe University and at the same time took over the management of the Goethe Business School, the center for academic management training at Frankfurt University . Since October 2011 he has been dean of the Faculty of Economics.

He is also responsible for the Retail Banking Competence Center (RBCC) in the House of Finance and is one of the board members of the E-Finance Lab , which is operated jointly by the Goethe University in Frankfurt and the Technical University of Darmstadt.

He teaches and researches in the areas of personal finance and empirical banking. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority , and since the end of 2011 a member of the Stock Exchange Expert Commission at the Federal Ministry of Finance.
