Andreas Johannes Wiesand (* 1945 in Eutin ) is a German cultural scientist and Secretary General of the European Institute for Comparative Cultural Research (ERICarts).

Career

After a radio traineeship, he studied politics, communication and education in Berlin and Hamburg and received his doctorate in 1977 with a thesis on the mobility of journalists. He was press officer for Rowohlt Verlag . From 1972 to 1978 he headed the independent research group “Institute for Project Studies” together with Karla Fohrbeck . In 1975, with the artist report , both presented two extensive volumes on the social situation of artists.

Later he was director of the Center for Cultural Research (ZfKf) and from 1989 professor for cultural management at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater .
