Andreas Lundstedt
Andreas Lundstedt (* May 20, 1972 in Knivsta as Björn Helge Andreas ) is a Swedish pop singer and musical actor who can demonstrate great musical success , especially as a member of the pop group Alcazar .
Life
Since childhood, Andreas Lundstedt had the desire to become a singer. At the age of five, he took part in a talent competition for children and came in second. From the age of fifteen he appeared regularly on television as a member of the children's band Stage Four . In 1999 he was a founding member of the successful Swedish pop group Alcazar . Lundstedt is openly gay and at times had a relationship with Magnus Carlsson . The group made their European breakthrough in 2001 with the hit single Crying at the Discoteque . Even while he was a member of Alcazar, Andreas Lundstedt started a few solo projects. So he brought out four of his own singles and one album. He also took on roles in the musicals Grease , Chicago and Saturday Night Fever .
In a highly acclaimed interview with the Swedish magazine QX on December 19, 2007, Andreas Lundstedt reported publicly about his HIV infection for the first time . With this step Lundstedt wanted to break the taboo of talking about this disease in connection with the music industry and to give the disease a face.
Eurovision Song Contest
Andreas Lundstedt has already tried several times to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden . In the first two attempts he appeared as a solo artist and took second place with Driver dagg faller regn (1996) and seventh place in the Swedish preliminary decision with Jag saknar dig, jag saknar dig in 1997 . In 2003 and 2005 he took part as a member of Alcazar and took third place in the Swedish qualifying with Not a Sinner, Not a Saint (2003) and Alcastar (2005). In 2006 he took part in the Song Contest for Switzerland as a member of the six4one formation and reached 17th place. In 2007 he entered the Melodifestivalen with the title Move , written by himself and Johan Röhr , but failed in the first preliminary round. On February 7th, 2009 Alcazar took part in a new formation in the first preliminary round of the Melodifestival 2009 and directly reached the final with the title Stay the Night . There they finally took fifth place. As a result, they took part in the Melodifestivalen again, but this time only made it to the “second chance” round, where they were defeated by Jessica Andersson . As a soloist, Lundstedt took part in the preliminary round with Aldrig aldrig in 2012 , but already failed in the semi-finals. His last participation - with Alcazar - at the Melodifestivalen 2014 and the title Blame It on the Disco ended in third place.
