Andreas Münzmay

Andreas Münzmay (* 1975 in Stuttgart ) is a German musicologist and has been Professor of Musicology / Digital Music Edition / Digital Humanities at the University of Paderborn since 2016 . He is also the managing director of the musicology seminar in Detmold / Paderborn and a member of the “Beethoven's workshop” project at the Academy of Sciences and Literature .

Career

Münzmay studied school music, Romance studies, jazz trombone and musicology in Stuttgart. He received his PhD in 2008 at the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin with a thesis on the French-German cultural transfer in the musical theater of the 19th century . After his training he initially worked as a musician, music school teacher, choir director and high school teacher. This was followed by teaching positions in musicology at the Stuttgart University of Music , the Berlin University of the Arts and the University of Potsdam . He worked as a scientific editor at the Universities of Bayreuth and Frankfurt am Main from 2009 to 2014 in the edition project “ OPERA - Spectrum of European Music Theater ” of the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz. Before his appointment to Paderborn, he was an assistant at the Institute for Musicology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt .
