Andreas Motzkus

Andreas Motzkus (born July 22, 1967 in Düsseldorf ) is a former German football player .

career

He played from 1982 in the youth of the Düsseldorf Panther , from 1985 then in the men's team. The 1.88-meter-long Motzkus, who was used in several positions ( quarterback , defensive back , wide receiver , kicker , punter ) was German champion with the Rhinelander in 1986, 1992, 1994 and 1995, and in 1994 he was named the best player in the final. In 1995 he also won the Eurobowl with the Panthers . In 1985, 1988 and 1996 he moved into the final of the German championship with the team, but had to be content with silver. Motzkus played for Düsseldorf until 2000.

In addition to his appearances with the Panthers, he played in the World League of American Football : There he was under contract with the Birmingham Fire team in 1991 and 1992 , and then with the Düsseldorf-based successor Rhein Fire in 1995 and 1996.

In the colors of the German national team, he won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1987 and 2000. In 1985, 1989, 1993 he finished third with the national team.
