history
The church, which was consecrated to St. Andrew the Apostle up until the Reformation , was built after 1461 in late Gothic form as a cruciform church , with the massive transept being the length of the nave and choir. In 1572 the church was set on fire by Spanish troops during the Eighty Years' War . The church was not completely restored until 1709. 1923-25 the transept and the three-sided closed choir were rebuilt. In 1942, German occupation troops laid down the upper floors of the church tower, which was given its present shape after the war in 1953.
Furnishing
The organ was built in 1995 by the organ building company JL van den Heuvel (Dordrecht). The slider chest instrument has 25 stops on two manual works and a pedal. The game actions are mechanical, the stop actions are electric.
