Andrei Alexejewitsch Konew ( Russian Андрей Алексеевич Конев ; born January 26, 1989 in Miass ) is a Russian ice hockey player who - after a doping ban - was under contract with Admiral Vladivostok in the Continental Hockey League .
Career
Andrei Konew began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK tractor Chelyabinsk , for whose second team he was initially active from 2005 to 2008 in the third-rate Pervaya League . In the 2007/08 season , the defender also made his debut for the professional team of HK tractor in the Super League , where he was a goal assist in a total of 15 games.
Since the 2008/09 season Konew has been playing with the HK tractor Chelyabinsk in the newly founded Continental Hockey League , and since 2009 he has been playing in parallel for its junior team in the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga .
In January 2012 Konew moved to Lokomotive Yaroslavl and played for his new club in the Vysschaya Hockey League . From October 2012 he played with Salawat Julajew Ufa in the KHL and came to 42 KHL missions by the end of 2013. In January 2014 Konew was given financial compensation to HK Donbass Donetsk , for which he played 13 KHL games by the end of the season.
In June 2014 he moved to HK Sibir Novosibirsk within the KHL . At the beginning of December of the same year, Konew and Andreas Thuresson were handed over to Severstal Tscherepowez , in return David Ullström moved to Novosibirsk.
In the 2016/17 season, Konew tested positive for doping and banned from the world association until November 2017. After this he returned briefly to the Admiral's squad.
