Andrei Sartassov

Andrei Sartassov ( Russian Андрей Сартасов ; born November 10, 1975 ) is a Chilean racing cyclist of Russian origin.

Career

Andrei Sartassov was runner -up on the Tour of Chile in 2001 and won a stage in the Doble Copacabana . The following year he won two stages in the Tour of Chile and another in the Dople Copacabana, where he was again successful in 2003. In the 2004 season, Sartassov won a stage in the Tour of Chile and a section of the Volta de Santa Catarina . In 2005 he won a stage in the Vuelta a San Juan . In 2006 he was successful at stages of the Vuelta a Mendoza, the Vuelta Ciclista Lider al Sur , the Tour of Chile and the Dople Copacabana. He also won the overall ratings at the Vuelta Lider and the Tour of Chile. He finished the individual classification of the UCI America Tour 2006 in third place. In October he also drove as a stagiaire for the Colombian Professional Continental Team Selle Italia-Diquigiovanni . In 2007 he again won two stages of the Vuelta Lider and won the overall standings for the second time.

On March 18, 2007 Sartassov was tested positive for the doping agent EPO at the Vuelta Ciclista Lider al Sur . He was then banned from the Russian Federation for two years until July 2, 2009. The results at the Vuelta Ciclista Lider al Sur were canceled from the fifth stage.

After his doping ban, Sartassov was second in the Chilean road championship in 2011. In 2012 he moved to the Argentine cycling team San Luis Somos Todos and won a section of the Giro del Sol San Juan stage race in the national Argentine racing calendar for this team in 2013 .
