Lumassina

Lumassina is a white wine from the Italian region of Liguria , where it produces juicy white wines . Cultivation is recommended in the province of Savona . It is possibly related to the Trebbiano vine. In the 1990s the area under vines was about 229 hectares . The most important vineyards are in Noli and Finale Ligure . The grape variety was first described by J. de Rovasenda.

In Savona and Quiliano , the variety is called buzzetto

Synonyms

The Lumassina grape variety is also known under the names Buzzetto, Loumnitza, Lumaca, Lumassa bianca, and Mataosso. According to Carlone, the synonym Lumazzina is assigned to the Pigato grape variety .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The large leaves are not bulged (more rarely three-lobed) (see also the article leaf shape ). The stem bay is rounded open. The blade is serrated.
  • The grape is medium-sized, winged and with loose berries. The round berries are medium-sized and whitish-green in color.

Lumassina is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).
