Andres Alver

Andres Alver (born December 23, 1953 in Tartu ) is an Estonian architect and architecture professor.

Life

Andres Alver graduated from the Estonian State Art Institute ( Eesti Riiklik Kunstiinstituut ) with a degree in architecture . Since 1983 he has been a lecturer at the Estonian Art Academy in Tallinn . He is the architect and planner of numerous buildings in northern Estonia that are groundbreaking for Estonian architecture. Alver is also involved in Tallinn town planning projects, including a. He was the winner of the competition for the redesign of Freedom Square ( Estonian Vabaduse väljak ) in 1998.

In 1980 Alver received the Kristjan Raud Prize for his work .

Andres Alver lives in Viimsi today . He is professor of urban planning at the Estonian Academy of Arts. He also heads the Alver ja Trummal Arhitektuuribüroo architectural office in Tallinn.
