Andrew J. Noymer (born November 4, 1971 ) is an American astronomer .

In 1988 he discovered a total of seven asteroids at the Siding Spring Observatory near Coonabarabran in Australia .

The asteroid (4956) Noymer was named after him on November 4, 1991 on the occasion of his 20th birthday.
