Andrew Whyment

Andrew Whyment (born April 2, 1981 in Salford , England ) is a British actor, best known for his role as Kirk Sutherland in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street .

Life

Whyment learned acting at the Laine Johnson Theater School in Manchester . In the 1990s he was able to get hold of smaller roles in various British dramas. Whyment made his breakthrough in 1999 with the role of Darren Sinclair-Jones in the BBC series The Royal Family . After he was seen as Wayne in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street in October 1999 , he got the role of Kirk Sutherland the following year . In 2003 he was awarded the prize for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards .

Andrew Whyment is not only an actor but also a musician and made during the college three years busking in Manchester . He also had his own band called "Norton".

In 2007 he married his wife Nicola Whyment- Willis. They have two children and live in Atherton , England.
