Ismail Tiliwaldi ( Chinese  司马义 · 铁 力 瓦尔 地 ; Uighur ; ئىسمائىل تىلىۋالدى ; born November 1944 in Shufu , Xinjiang ) is a Chinese politician of the Communist Party of China (CCP) who was among other things chairman of the government of the autonomous region from 2003 to 2007 Xinjiang and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress between 2008 and 2013 .

Life

Ismail Tiliwaldi, who belongs to the Uighurs , began to study at the mathematics faculty of the University of Xinjiang after attending school , which he graduated in 1967. Afterwards, during the cultural revolution in the course of the so-called “Up in the mountains and down in the countryside” movement between 1967 and 1973, he was a worker in the tractor station of Shufu and at times also a translator for the People's Commune Seman Kashi Milike . He became a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1973, and then from 1973 to 1976 he was an organizer of the Shufu Party Committee. After working in the organization department of the Kaxgar District Party Committee from 1976 to 1980 , between 1980 and 1983 he was deputy head and finally head of the personnel department of the Kaxgar District Party Committee. From 1995 to 1998, Ismail Tiliwaldi then acted in personal union both as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and as Deputy Political Commissar of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps , an economic and paramilitary organization unique in its kind in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. He was then a member of the leadership group of the Xinjiang People's Government between 1998 and the Deputy Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee between 1998 and 2003 and also a member of the Standing Committee of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region Party Committee. As the successor to Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit , Ismail Tiliwaldi took over the post of chairman of the government of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region in January 2003 and held this post until December 28, 2007, when Nur Bekri succeeded him.
