Andrij Biba

Andrej Andrejewitsch Biba ( Ukrainian Андрій Андрійович Біба ; Russian Андрей Андреевич Биба ; born August 10, 1937 in Kiev ) is a former Soviet football player and football coach.

Andrei Biba was a regular for Dynamo Kiev's first team from 1957 to 1967 . He won with this team three times (1961, 1966 and 1967) the Soviet championship and in 1964 and 1966 also the Soviet cup . In the 1960s he was considered one of the best attacking midfield players in the Soviet Union and was voted Soviet Footballer of the Year in 1966 .

Despite his success with Dynamo Kiev, Biba came only to one use for the Soviet national team , on July 4, 1965 in a friendly against Brazil in Moscow. He also came to four missions for the Soviet Olympic team.

Biba played from 1968 to 1969 for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and then until 1970 for Desna Chernihiv in the second highest Soviet league.

After his active career as a footballer, he first worked in the coaching staff of Dynamo Kiev from 1972. In later years he coached several lower-class Ukrainian clubs. Biba has been volunteering for Dynamo Kiev again for several years.
