Andrij Boryssowytsch Yermak ( Ukrainian Андрій Борисович Єрмак ; born November 21, 1971 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian lawyer, film producer and assistant to the President of Ukraine .

Life

Andrij Jermak was born in Kiev, where he graduated from the Institute for International Relations at the Taras Shevchenko National University in 1995 . In 1995 he was admitted to the bar and received a master's degree in private international law . In 1997 he founded an international law firm specializing in commercial law and copyright law, especially for television broadcasters, television and media groups, film and television production companies. He is also the president of the “Kiev City Entrepreneurs Association”. In 2012 he founded the production company Garnet International Media Group and was involved as a film producer in several Ukrainian and international film projects.

On May 21, 2019, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi appointed him his assistant. As such, he was in charge of the prisoner exchange between Ukraine and Russia on September 7, 2019, took part in the Normandy format negotiations that same month and became the main negotiator with Russia. In September 2019, he was also involved in talks with Gordon Sondland about resuming American military aid to Ukraine, which led to the Ukraine affair .

Since June 21, 2019 he has been a member of the National Investment Council ( Національна інвестиційна рада України ) and since October 7, 2019, he has been a member of the supervisory board of the state company Ukroboronprom .
