Life
Andromachos was a son of the noble Achaios the Elder , through whom he was possibly connected to the Seleucid dynasty. His sister Laodike I was the wife of King Antiochus II and his daughter Laodike II was married to King Seleucus II . His son was Achaios the Younger († 213 BC), who later rose to be king.

Together with his son, Andromachos carried around 228 BC BC in the Armenian mountains a victory over an army of Antiochus Hierax by it. At an unknown time and under circumstances not mentioned he was taken prisoner by King Ptolemy III. advised by Egypt , who from 222 BC BC the younger Achaios of Antiochus III changed sides for his release . to the Ptolemies as a condition. Achaios rose in 220 BC. BC actually against the Seleucid king; whether Andromachos was released is unknown.
