Androphobia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Androphobia (from andro- ( man ), based on ancient Greek aner, andros "man" and phobia , derived from ancient Greek phobos "fear") describes a very pronounced fear or aversion to men or male characteristics . In a broader sense, the term can also refer to a specific avoidance of men by homosexual women . Androphobics therefore usually avoid contact with men, find it difficult to maintain contact with men, or feel uncomfortable and anxious when they sense the presence of men. Men can also suffer from this fear. The opposite, the pathological fear of women, is called gynophobia . Arrhenphobia and hominophobia are other terms used to describe fear of men.
