Andros Kyprianou ( Greek Άνδρος Κυπριανού ; born October 26, 1955 in Strovolos ) is a Cypriot politician and since January 21, 2009 the general secretary of the former Marxist-Leninist and now Eurocommunist Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL).

On January 21, 2009 he was elected Secretary General with 57 out of a total of 105 votes. He also heads the House of Representatives Committee on Home Affairs , of which he has been a member since 2001.

Trivia

Andros Kyprianou used to be a competitive badminton player. In 1988 he won the Cyprus International in mixed with Christine Heatly from Scotland.
