Andrzej Niżankowski

Andrzej Niżankowski (also: Nizankowius ) (* around 1580 ; † April 3, 1655 in Cracow ) was a Polish organist and composer.

Life

Niżankowski studied with Girolamo Frescobaldi in Rome between 1625 and 1635 and worked there as an organist at the Church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva . He then became organist at the Dominican Abbey in Cracow. A Polish organ tablature in the Frescobaldi style is ascribed to him.
