Andy McDermott (born July 2, 1974 in Halifax (West Yorkshire) , England ) is a British thriller writer.

Life

Andy McDermott worked as a journalist and editor for various magazines and journals before starting his writing career . He then began writing novels. His first thriller "The Hunt for Atlantis" was released in 2007 by Headline Publishing Group . In Germany it was published in 2008 by Goldmann Verlag. In the meantime he has written five follow-up volumes, of which the second ("Das Grab des Herkules") is expected to appear in German in spring 2011.

style

Andy McDermott writes adventure thrillers with sprawling action elements, which are similar to the style of Matthew Reilly . The main character is the archaeologist Nina Wilde, always supported by her bodyguard Eddie Chase. Every novel is about a lost civilization, artifacts or other topics related to archaeological areas.
