Attack point
The point of incidence is a point on the ridge line where three or more roof surfaces meet.
With the hipped gable roof , the hipped roof and the half- hipped roof, it is the point at which the ridge line intersects the two rafters of the hip. From a static point of view, it is considered beneficial if the rafters of the main roof there form a “scissors”, which is then also referred to as a collapse bundle . Another possibility is to support the point of attack with a pillar and to spread it against the next rafter.
