Requirement profile

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The requirement profile is the description of required or desired attributes (properties, skills, characteristics). The justification for requirement profiles results from methodically derived functions, purposes and environmental conditions in which the described object or subject is to be used. The term is used more in connection with people and their characteristics and corresponds to the specifications or the specification in technology. The term requirements analysis is used to determine the requirements profile.

Examples

Human resource management

Tabular arrangement of certain company requirements for applicants, trainees or employees with regard to certain activities. In this table, the importance of each individual requirement characteristic for the company and certain activities can be weighted. According to DIN 33430 & ISO 10667, the focus of the requirements must be forward-looking. One differentiates requirements that differ

  • resulting from the activity in the function (e.g. calling strangers, analyzing texts, analyzing complex tables)
  • result from the cultural environment (e.g. always remain friendly, never be direct or loud)
  • Result from the product or industry context (e.g. car salesman for commercial vehicles v / o car salesman for luxury limousines)
  • result from the social context (e.g. behavioral guidelines from management, competence model)

Requirement profiles are often stored individually in test systems (e.g. online assessment , assessment center ) and evaluated with the candidate in a profile comparison. Requirement profiles thus form the basis for personnel assessment and, in part, for personnel development .

On the other hand, general typologies from type theory are also rated as requirement profiles, provided that no own considerations supplement or change them. As a result of the work of Hans Jürgen Eysenck , Carl Gustav Jung and James McKeen Cattell in the early 20th century, numerous model approaches for requirement profiles in management emerged after 1950. This form of general requirement profile is based on a few characteristics and is used for the scientific validation of the models and theories in personality tests . Practical requirement profiles for management defined by work analysis are significantly more complex and can contradict these models in individual cases.

Delimitation from job description
While job descriptions aim at the organizational classification in structural and procedural terms, requirement profiles are descriptions of the ideal job holder and his characteristics and behavior.

Production / development

A new workpiece is to be produced. So that the appropriate raw materials can be procured and the right production process can be selected, the demands or requirements for the workpiece must be specifically described. In the technical area, different requirement systems are run side by side, some of which are in competition with one another:

  • technical requirements
    • Functional
    • Operating environment
    • Type of use
    • Serviceability
    • ...
  • Requirements from the claim to appearance
    • design
    • surface
    • Noise, smell, weight, use
    • ...
  • Economic requirements
    • costs
    • Use
    • Special costs and procurement costs etc.

There are a number of analogies that arise from a resource-centric view of human resource requirements.
