Ange is a French rock band founded in 1970 by the brothers Francis and Christian Décamps.
history
The band was originally influenced by groups like Genesis and King Crimson ; the music is quite theatrical and poetic. The first success was a cover version of the Jacques Brel piece Ces gens-là , on the album Le Cimetière des Arlequins .
Other band members in the early years included Jean-Michel Brézovar (guitar), Gérard Jelsch (drums) and Daniel Haas (bass and acoustic guitar).
The band made their farewell tour in 1995. Christian Décamps released some solo albums as "Christian Décamps et Fils" ("Christian Décamps and Son"), before he took over the name "Ange" again in 1999 on the album La voiture à eau , accompanied by the same band that was already on had played his solo albums Troisième Etoile à Gauche and Poèmes de la Noiseraie .
