Angel Frette

Angel Frette is an Argentine percussionist .

Frette studied percussion with John Singer . Since 1988 he has been the percussionist of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires , which is also the house orchestra of the Teatro Colón . 1994–95 he completed his percussion training with Wilhelm Moersch in New York. He has performed as a marimba soloist in South America, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy and the USA and took part in the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in 1999 . In 2000 he went on a concert tour as a duo with Wilhelm Moersch through Spain, performing in Seville, Almería, Alicante, Valencia and Madrid. He played the world premieres of eight marimba concerts by Argentine composers and released four CDs.

He has also given workshops and master classes at the University of Miami , the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota , has acted as a juror at marimba competitions in Belgium, Brazil, Italy and Mexico and directs the Patagonia Percussion Festival .
