Angela Tillmann (born January 31, 1957 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Tillmann obtained secondary school leaving certificate in 1976. From 1976 to 1979 she trained as an industrial clerk. From 1979 to 1980 she then attended the technical college for economics in Mönchengladbach with the qualification for a technical college. From 1980 to 1984 she studied social pedagogy at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach, graduating as a social pedagogue in 1984. Since 1985 she has worked as an employee in the youth development department of the Düsseldorf city administration.

Angela Tillmann joined the SPD in 1989. From 1990 to 1994 she was deputy chairwoman of the Mönchengladbach-Mitte local association. From 1992 to 1994 she was deputy chairwoman of the Mönchengladbach subdistrict and the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP). From 1996 to 2000 she was chairwoman of the Mönchengladbach-Mitte local association, and between 1994 and 1996 and since 2000 she has been a member of the board of directors of the Mönchengladbach sub-district.

From 1994 until the election to the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005, she was a member of the council of the city of Mönchengladbach , where she was also deputy parliamentary group leader since 1999.

From 2005 to 2010 Angela Tilmann was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia for the constituency of Mönchengladbach II (WK 50). However, she was elected via the state reserve list. On January 1, 2016, she moved back into the state parliament, replacing Roland Adelmann, who had left. She is no longer a member of the state parliament, elected in 2017, because her 61st place on the list was not enough to move into parliament.
