Angelo Branduardi is the first album by the Italian musician Angelo Branduardi . It was released on LP in 1974 in an Italian and an English version . The album is dedicated to Luisa "Paco" Zappa .
Content and origin
After Angelo Branduardi had already played his violin to Ennio Morricone's film music several times and had already set his own lyrics and lyrics by Sergej Esenin and Luisa Zappa to music, producer Paul Buckmaster had the idea of his first own album, Branduardis. Music and text are largely by Angelo Branduardi himself. Only the song Eppure chiedilo agli uccelli was composed by Paul Buckmaster, the text is from the book Job , chap. 12, verse 7. The cover photo is by Cesare Monti.
After recording the album, Paul Buckmaster had the idea that a version in English could sell better internationally. So Peter Sinfield was hired to translate the lyrics, and after that the album was quickly recorded.
