Angelo Mangini

Angelo Mangini (born March 18, 1905 in Mola di Bari , † August 4, 1988 in Bologna ) was an Italian chemist ( organic chemistry ).

Mangini was since 1940 professor of higher organic chemistry at the University of Bologna . From 1940 he headed the Institute for Industrial Chemistry and the Faculty for Industrial Chemistry from 1945 to 1946 and 1948 to 1969.

Among other things, he dealt with the synthesis of organic dyes, the relationship between structure, composition and reactivity of organic molecules and molecular spectroscopy.

In 1987 he received the Schrödinger Medal when it was first awarded. In 1980 he became a member of the Accademia dei Lincei .
