Harry Landers

Harold "Harry" Landers , actually Harold Sorokin (born September 3, 1921 in New York City - † September 10, 2017 in Woodland Hills , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Landers was born in New York City in 1921 as one of seven children of Russian immigrants. He began his career in the early 1940s as an unskilled worker with Warner Bros. Entertainment , where he met actress Bette Davis . Through her, Landers became a member of the Screen Actors Guild and began an acting career. After training at the Actors' Laboratory Theater, he received his first extras in 1947.

In 1949 Landers played his first major role in the film noir C-Man . In the following years he was seen in several classic films, in which he mostly took on small supporting roles. Landers played the role of GoGo in Der Wilde with Marlon Brando in 1953 . The following year he appeared as a guest of Miss Lonely Hearts (played by Judith Evelyn ) in Alfred Hitchcock's The Window to the Courtyard . Lander's bigger roles include Gray Wolf in the 1955 western Between Two Fires and Heff in the Western Charro! with Elvis Presley from 1969. In 1991 he ended his acting career. His work includes more than 80 film and television productions.

Landers was married and the father of two sons. He most recently lived at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital , a senior citizens' home for filmmakers in Los Angeles . Harry Landers died in 2017 at the age of 96, his death not being announced until January 2018.
