The Angelstein is a striking group of rocks in the northern Black Forest near Neuenbürg . It is located on the eastern slope of the 556 meter high Sägkopf , a wooded hilltop between the Enztal in the north and west and the Grösseltal in the east. Some of the blocks of middle red sandstone are stacked so that they are habitable and were also used for these purposes in times of need. Because of its natural history, typical landscape and cultural-historical importance, the rock group is protected as a large natural monument and under the name Felsgruppe Angelstein, Neuenbürg-Waldrennach with a size of 0.1 hectares, also as a geotope .
